So, I have this (amazing) photographer friend…She needed some new shots for her portfolio! Check out the full blog here Laura Paige Photography.
Please keep in mind I have never “modeled” before. The words “chin down, neck out” are on repeat in my head even today.
What girl doesn’t want some fun head shots!
We like to call this one the mother of dragons… This was a little unusual for me, only because I tend to be pretty modest… I can just hear my brothers in the back ground..”mad put some clothes on”..
(I wish there more enhancements that could be made to this one 🙂
So I need to get back in the swing of things and post more often! Mom and I went on our mother daughter trip to Italy this past March..
We splurged and bought Hermès scarfs ..I know….When in Rome right? So because this scarf needs a shoot on its own, I had to wear it. The colors are unbelievable, I love the way it brightens up my face, however I can’t imagine wearing it often I’m so scared something will happen to it. So after these shots I immediately packaged it back up in its cute little orange cylinder.
Well ya know because I’m a stylist… I had to have this classic “let me play with my hair” shot. The scarf steals the spotlight 🙂
Oh ya know.. lets just lay in some grass.. and pray I get eaten alive.
You try and keep a serious face when the photographer says… “do you look at men with those eyes?”… And in my head I’m like …yes………duhh.
Soaking up the sun.
So making soap is one of the crafts my mom and I love to do together!
Check out some of these beautiful Soaps! We have them available for sale on Poshmark under my name Madison Hornsby.
We love to add coconut oil for extra moisture.
Yes, the quality of your oils matter.
And so do the flowers, we grow organic nastursiams to add for color.
We added calendula to the more masculine soap.
Then we added cornflowers to the lavender soap along with some beet extract for color.
For the olive oil soap with added the nasturtiums.
Of course you have to have a peppermint oatmeal scrub!
Peppermint oatmeal soap with nasturtiums 🙂
The whole gang.
We love our beautiful soaps!
So my Monday-Friday job I nanny for a family when i’m not doing weddings on the weekends 🙂
The older child that I kinda watch wanted to do that crazy rainbow snapchat thing, so here goes it 🙂
- Apply pink blush to the cheeks and nose then add the white paint under the lip (I also padded white eyeshadow to the white paint)
2. Line with black paint or liquid eye liner to the white and the top of the lid. ( We did not have two sets of lashes so I improvised and drew in the lashes on the bottom)
3. Have fun with this… you don’t have to be exact.
4. Start drawing lines dow the face in different color paints- she wanted the rainbow in this exact order but you can do anything you want. ( Grab a cheap white shirt at Michaels so you can apply the paint to the shirt to! )
5. We added some fun white sparkles! ( She let me fill in her eyebrows with dark brown paint for a more cartoony look)
This was a lot of fun! I wish we were more prepared for this activity but I think for a last minute look it was perfect for her middle school dance 🙂
History- Grave robbers used this during the black plague when they robbed sites of victims that were contaminated.
Mom mom loves to make holistic remedies and elixers for different things.
- Witch Hazel (You can pick a scent, we chose lavender)
- Clove Oil
- Medieval Oil
Mix equal parts of water and witch hazel, then add your oils- I would say 10 to 15 drops of each oil.
Our spray turned out to smell wonderful and not to overpowering!
Hope this helps prevent sickness!
Last year riding alongside route 15 in Leesburg Virginia we discovered this little gem called Farmer Johns Fruit and Vegetable Market.
Naturally we picked up some yummy veggies to make some homemade indian dishes! I did grab a pumpkin … and then I let it rot on my front porch for months…. this year I will be more creative.
